Ms Grace Zhao is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with PhD degree in mental health who is qualified to practice in both family medicine and psychiatry; diagnose, treat, and
prescribe medication for children, adolescents, and adults. Some of her practice specialties include (but not limited to) ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Panic attacks and Insomnia.
About Grace
Grace has extensive practice experience of nurse practitioner in primary care, urgent care, critical care with critical care nursing experience over 20 years and mental health illness.
She provides care to her patients in combination of traditional (prescribing up to date psychiatric medications) and/or alternative medicine (natural treatments including but not limited to vitamins, supplements, lifestyle modification, nutrition).
She believes in the mind/body/spiritual connection, and we
are made up as a whole person and not a series of parts, just as Hippocrates “The Father of Medicine.”.
Grace began her nursing career in China after graduated from nursing school, then she went to Dubai and worked as ICU nurse, then she came to the USA and worked in critical care as RN. After working years as RN she realized that she needed to be a NP to provide high level care for her patients. She then decided to continue her BSN and then directly went into the MSN program and passed her boards as FNP in 2017. After two years of NP practice, Grace pursued DNP program at the University of Michigan.
Over the course of six years NP practice, Grace has had the privilege of working in many practice areas, including psychiatry, primary care and family practice, internal medicine, critical care in hospital setting and urgent pediatric care. Much of her experience has been in pediatrics. She enjoys working with a variety of age groups.
Grace is bilingual with Chinese and English.
Grace’s fun fact about her personality is to be happy where you are, and what you have. Her professional highlight is she got her PhD degree from the University of Michigan.
