With tears in his eyes, Edwin Leiva shares a picture of his oldest daughter Dyanny Leiva Sabillon with a microphone in her hand and singing.

“Before she died, she was singing in my church,” said Leiva.

He explains the photo was taken no more than a half hour before she was killed Sunday afternoon.

“She’s an angel,” he said.

What happened to Dyanny was caught on camera Sunday afternoon. A pair of suspected teenagers in a stolen car hit 20-year-old Dyanny just as she stepped from her own car in front of her house on Calmos Street in Peppermill Village.

A photo has been released of the two people believed to be involved in a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run.

Police said after the crash, the driver struck multiple unoccupied vehicles before coming to rest. The driver and passenger then reportedly got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Dyanny's younger cousin, Steven, was riding with her at the time of the incident.

He said he, “saw the car speeding up. I’m guessing my cousin didn’t have time enough time to react.”

The stolen car flipped on its side. The young people inside hopped from the wreckage and ran away. Another camera captured an image of the pair.

Police are hoping someone turns them in. Dyanny’s father said in Spanish his daughter had dreams all stolen by the people in that stolen car. His neighbor, who witnessed the crash, said no matter their age, those who killed Dyanny need to be held accountable.

“We need our governor to change these laws when it comes to these stolen cars and juveniles,” said Seantelle Greene. “Because that’s exactly what they were. They looked like young boys. The punishment needs to fit the crime. That’s how I feel about it.”

Prince George’s County police are asking anyone with information to call the Collision Analysis And Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
